SARTA's Clean Tech Innovator of the Year

SARTA invites nominations for a prestigious award for an outstanding individual innovator from the Sacramento region.  The 2011 recipient will be announced at the Clean Tech Showcase October 24, 2011.  We invite self-nominations or nominations of a colleague.

Please keep your description brief – your entire nomination may not exceed two pages in length.

Submissions must be submitted electronically via the online nominations form no later than 11:59 PM, on September 15, 2011.

Winners will be notified by October 10, and the award will be publicly announced at the

SARTA Sacramento Clean Tech Showcase on October 24, 2011.

SARTA CleanTech Innovator of the Year

PURPOSE: To recognize and celebrate outstanding achievement of innovators within our Sacramento region in clean tech products and services.

CRITERIA: The winner of the award will be selected by the Awards Committee to recognize innovative, important, and high impact inventions and products that transform an important aspect of the clean technology industry, making products and services more effective, less costly, or more widely used.  The innovation should be in use in a commercial product or service.  Committee may also take into account benefits generated by the effort for our region.

Parameters to be assessed in making the awards may include:

COMMITTEE:  The awardee will be selected by a committee that consists of Dean Bruce White (UCD), Dean Emir Macari (Sac State), Jack Crawford (Velocity Venture Capital), Laurie ten Hope (California Energy Commission), Jim Alves (SMUD), Clay Schmidt (PG&E), Mark Henwood and Gary Simon (both of CleanStart). 

AWARD: Awards shall consist of a suitable object inscribed with the date, the name of the awardee, the name of the innovation, and the inscription: “For Innovation in Clean Technology.”
